Let'south Go Brandon refers to a viral video of NASCAR racer Brandon Dark-brown speaking to NBC about winning the NASCAR Xfinity Series while the crowd chants "fuck Joe Biden," which the newscaster claims is a chant of "permit'due south get Brandon" instead, seemingly equally a grade of damage control. The video went viral in October 2021 following numerous reports of people chanting "fuck Joe Biden" at sports events began surfacing around September in protestation of President Biden and ofttimes to show support for Trump. In early October people started using the phrase in place of "fuck Joe Biden" to criticize and joke about the President.

Origin

Around September 2021 a trend began spreading where people dirge "fuck Joe Biden" at sporting events, mostly college football game games, in protest of the President. A number of these stories were reported between September and October, including Tone Deaf^[ii] reporting the chant at a Staind concert, lead by the band's vocaliser, and Newsweek^[3] reporting on the chant'south spread across various colleges. It appears to accept been popularized by TikTok. On September 5th, TikToker @oldrowswig posted a compilation of people chanting "fuck Joe Biden" at college sports games, concerts and a crowded bar, gaining over 232,000 views in a month (shown below). On September 11th, Donald Trump hosted a pay-per-view boxing event where the oversupply chanted "we want Trump" then "fuck Joe Biden" (shown below, left). The chant is supported and spread past Donald Trump Jr.. On September 12th, YouTuber OkiePatriot 76 Tv posted a compilation of people chanting "fuck Joe Biden" at sports events, mostly college games (shown below, correct).

On October 2nd, 2021, NASCAR racer Brandon Brown won his first NASCAR Xfinity Series. Brown spoke about the win with NBC later the race. After Brandon thank you all his partners, the interviewer says, "Brandon, you also told me -- as you can hear the chants from the crowd," followed by a cutting to the crowd clearly yelling "fuck Joe Biden" earlier she continues, "'let'south get Brandon'" before continuing the interview. The clip was shared to Twitter^[one] by @TrumpJew2 on that solar day, gaining over three.8 million views, 28,000 likes and x,000 retweets in four days (shown below).

Over the course of early October, Twitter users began using the phrase "let'south get Brandon" in place of "fuck Joe Biden" in lodge to criticize the President, as well equally the hashtag "#LetsGoBrandon.' On October 5th, Twitter user @RealMattCouch posted a photoshop of AOC's "tax the rich" MET Gala 2021 wearing apparel replacing the words with "permit'due south go Brandon," gaining over ii,900 likes in a day (shown below).

On October 5th, Ben Shapiro's news site The Daily Wire^[4] began selling t-shirts with the phrase on them (shown beneath, left). On Oct 6th, Donald Trump Jr. posted a meme on Instagram^[12] showing Donald Trump on a flip telephone in a pink hat reading "let'south get Brandon," gaining over 328,000 likes in two days (shown below, right).

On Oct 7th, Twitter^[8] user @abigailmarone shared a video from a Fox News live interview of a man saying why he watches Fox News and then finishing with "permit'due south go Brandon," gaining over ii,400 likes in a twenty-four hours (shown below).

On the same mean solar day, Benny Johnson, a chief creative officer at Turning Point U.s. and host of "The Benny Bear witness" interviewed Ted Cruz about the chant. He posted the clip to Twitter^[11] (shown below). On October eighth, Scott Adams, creator of Dilbert, tweeted,^[nine] "Suggestion for Trump'south 2024 presidential campaign slogan: 'Let's go, Brandon!'" gaining over 3,500 likes in two hours. On the same day, @Brick_Suit posted a video to Twitter^[10] captioned "Someone just paged Let's Go Brandon at Chicago O'Hare" showing a man in a suit talking to an airport employee behind a desk, then a call over the airport'southward loudspeaker asking for passenger "let's go Brandon" to study to a gate twice. The human being in the suit then approaches the photographic camera and says "let'south go Brandon." The video garnered over i,500 likes and 500 retweets in two hours (shown below).

"Let'due south Get Brandon" Songs

Equally the meme continued to spread, musical artists largely comprised of Christian rappers started recording songs titled "Let's Go Brandon" against Joe Biden. Grey'southward posted a video (shown below, right) on October 29th, gaining over 234,000 views in four days.

On November 1st, rapper Topher posted a song and music video for a song titled "Let's Go Brandon" to YouTube, gaining over 39,000 views in a day (shown below). Similar to the other songs, information technology features anti-Biden lyrics. The clarification reads, "Allow'south fill the charts with Let's Get Brandon songs!!!"
